Like nearly all athletic clubs, The HAWCS is staffed and run by volunteers, and its success is very much dependent on how many volunteers it has. Being a new Club, there are only a small number of us at the moment, but already a number of existing athletes and a number of parents have come forward to help us run the Club and try and make it a success.
Below is a list of Club People who are helping run the Club, but as you will see there a number of positions that we could still do with help and support with.

As you can see a number of people are already hold a number of positions, but there are so many more roles that need to be filled. We are hoping that some of our parents will be shortly attending a course to become qualified officials which will increase our numbers in that important are of work.
So what volunteer positions are needed in the Club?
Club Officers and Committee: Well we can never have enough of everything. There are a variety of Club roles that we could fill, for example a Fund Raiser, or a Social Secretary, but if you have any skills that you think could help the Club, please speak to us.
Welfare: Whilst we have two Welfare Officers who have been CRB checked, and are trained First Aiders, we would welcome further support from anyone who may like to take on these very important roles.
Coaching and Training: We have successfully established a small team of coaches, all of whom have attended training courses to qualify as a Coach, but as the Club grows we will need more Coaches to cover the range of events available in the sport.
The Club will pay the cost of attending a coaching course for anyone interested in joining us.
Competition Roles: There a number of roles that needed to be filled in this area. We already have three trained Officials, and we are hoping to see more being trained up in the near future. There are a number of officiating roles to fill that will cover field events, or track events, or timekeeping or starting, whatever your choice, the Club will pay the cost of your attendance at a training course.
Besides Officials we will also need Team Managers. At the moment we are affiliated to two Leagues, and any one taking on the role of Team Manager will have full support from the Club’s Coaches, but Team Selection is not a problem just yet. At some stage in the future we may need to expand the roles to Men, Women, Boys and Girls Team Managers. If this is an area you would be interested in, please let us know.
